![]() We stayed in the Lorietta Anne Room which is cozy but luxurious - a great deal for $150/night compared to the other B&B's we looked at in Pittsburgh which were over $200/night. There is also a beautiful heated swimming pool at the back of the property which sadly we didn't have time to use. The pictures online don't do this place justice - we felt like we were in a villa in Tuscany! The rooms are all beautifully decorated and the grounds are lush and very private - the only sounds we heard were the birds singing in the trees! And I even saw several deer roaming around the back. We were met by the owner's daughter, Jerrica, who gave us a tour of the home before showing us our room. It's hidden from the road up a long driveway and looked quite stately as it came into view. drive northeast of Pittsburgh and we drove along winding roads on our way to the Grand Estate. My husband and I came to Pittsburgh for a business meeting at the end of August and decided to stay at this lovely B&B based on the wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor - and we're so glad we did! It's about a 40 min. A place that was so amazing with such wonderful hosts that it prompted me to actually write a review for the first time ever. Not only was the stay amazing, but it felt quite magical, too! There you have it. Even though we only stayed for two nights we came back home feeling completely refreshed. In the evening we observed a buck and a doe sitting cheek to cheek on the lawn. In the mornings I sat peacefully near the fountain. They kept us going for hours while bicycling on the nearby trails! Being a gracious host, Melanie also offered wonderful recommendations for local restaurants that offered vegan dinner entrees. Not only did Melanie accept (and understand) what that meant, she embraced the opportunity to provide us scrumptious and satisfying 100% vegan breakfasts. Clearly a great deal of thought went into making people feel comfortable from the selection of furniture to the shampoo to the marvelous breakfasts! Speaking of breakfasts we eat a plant based (vegan) diet. Every room from our private suite to the common areas offered the opportunity for us to thoroughly enjoy this luxurious experience. For the next two days we really felt like we lived in this amazing place! Our room, the Margherita Ann, proved more incredible than the photographs. Melanie and Tom made us feel at home from the moment that we made the reservation and stepped in the door. We discovered the Grand Estate through an online search and decided to splurge. My husband and I were looking for a B&B near the Armstrong Rail Trail and the Butler-Freeport Trail. Often I've thought about writing a review for a place, but never managed to do so until now. I can only imagine how beautiful a wedding would be at Grand Estate! More Show less The Grand Estate is a little bit secluded. We are looking forward to a return visit. ![]() My husband enjoyed shooting pool while I was indulging in a relaxing massage after my dip in the hot tub. Melanie paid attention to my request for a low sodium breakfast and served a lovely, delicious breakfast. Our room was huge, beautiful, and comfortable all wrapped up together. Pictures don't do justice of the grandeur. They shared so much information about the history of the house that was very interesting. What can I say.Everything was beautiful and perfect! Melanie and Tom, the Innkeepers were gracious hosts. ![]() I don't think I stopped saying "wow" until we were back home after our stay. While searching the web for a B&B not far from home where we could do an overnight for our anniversary, I found Grand Estate at Hidden Acres. ![]()
